How it works
MB WAY Authorised Payments allow your customers to make a one-time approval of a predefined amount that can be charged for each purchase or subscription/month without requiring further approvals. This will allow your customers to make purchases in your online store or Marketplace with just one click, significantly simplifying the purchasing process, encouraging recurring purchases and thus contributing to increased sales.
At the checkout of your online store offer the payment method “MB WAY Authorised Payments” and your customers will only need to complete the process on their MB WAY app.
Subscriptions
Automatic payments of subscriptions (monthly, annual, or other) without the need for the consumer to authenticate each payment, on each of the billing dates.
One Click
Payments for one-off purchases at a merchant, where the consumer can make the next purchases without having to validate.
How it starts
The process of subscribing to the Authorised Payments feature is simple, fast and designed to offer maximum convenience and security for both users and member companies. This process takes place digitally and is easily managed via the MB WAY app, ensuring a smooth experience.
The subscription consists of the user choosing the company or service for which they want to activate authorised payments. This option usually appears at the time of contracting or when making the initial payment for a good or service, as described below.
Step 1: Authorisation Request
The company issues a payment authorisation request to the user, which is sent directly to the MB WAY app via the SIBS Gateway. This request includes clear information on the amounts, the frequency (if applicable) and the terms of the authorisation.
Step 2: Confirmation and Authentication
The user receives a notification in the MB WAY app and is directed to the order detail. After checking the conditions presented, they confirm the authorisation using strong authentication (e.g. MB WAY PIN or biometrics). This step ensures that only the authorised user can validate the process.
Step 3: Authorisation activation
After confirmation, the authorisation is activated, allowing the company to process future payments within the agreed limits. The user can, at any time, consult, modify or cancel this authorisation directly in the MB WAY app.
This operation significantly improves the customer experience by eliminating the need for repeated authorisations, promoting greater convenience and loyalty. With MB WAY Authorised Payments, SIBS offers a practical and efficient solution that benefits both consumers and merchants, facilitating day-to-day payment management and contributing to more modern and effective collection processes.

MB WAY is SIBS’ mobile solution that offers an innovative approach to online and physical payments, instant transfers, generation of MB NET virtual cards and withdrawals via smartphone, tablet or PC.
Payment card holders who are members of MB WAY can make purchases with the highest level of security guaranteed, because no payment card data is ever exposed and because there is no need for the user to authorise each debit – this authorisation is done in the MB WAY app using data that only the user knows or holds (PIN code or fingerprint).
In the context of MB WAY purchasing with an alias refers to the ability to make payments using a simplified identifier, like a phone number or a user-specific alias, rather than entering detailed account or card information.
On MB WAY the user has the Purchase with Alias and Authorised Payments scenarios available on Sandbox.
Purchase with Alias
With MB WAY, users can associate their bank account or payment details with a unique alias (a phone number). This alias allows them to make payments without needing to enter sensitive information such as account numbers or card details every time they make a transaction.
In each of the available test scenarios, after clicking on Run in Postman, you will get an API Response and a specific Webhook Response.

Authorised Payments
MB WAY’s ‘Authorised Payments’ feature is an innovative solution that allows users to authorise recurring or one-off payments in a simple, secure and convenient way. Authorised Payments are particularly useful in situations that require the automation of payment processes, such as subscriptions, automatic payment services or periodic collections. Its main benefits include ease of use, which allows users to activate, manage and cancel payment authorisations directly from the MB WAY app, eliminating the need for manual intervention for each transaction. It enables high levels of security through the use of strong customer authentication and strict compliance with PSD2 standards, ensuring the protection of data and transactions.
There are two different types of Authorised Payments:
One Click: for one-off payments, in which the customer can perform purchases without the need of validation;
Subscription: automatic recurring payments (e.g. monthly, yearly subscriptions, etc.) without the need of customer authentication for each billing payment.
In each of the available test scenarios, after clicking on Run in Postman, you will get an API Response and a specific Webhook Response.
MB WAY is an asynchronous payment that requests the MB WAY enabled app, associated with the mobile phone number sent within the request, to accept the payment.
Front office operations
The SIBS Gateway supports two types of operations, purchases and authorisations, where the purchase triggers the payment immediately and the authorisation keeps the amount captive until a capture is performed.
Purchase: This transaction allows a Cardholder to pay for a good or service via an electronic operation that debits his account and will credit the Acceptors banking account. Consists in an immediate debit in the Client account and it is an effective payment on the moment of the transaction.
Authorisation: Consists in an authorisation for a future payment. It allows the Merchant to get an authorisation from the Issuer keeping the amount captive in the Cardholders banking account; the transaction is authorised and the purchase will be triggered in a second moment, when the merchant needs to trigger a “Capture” on the Backoffice.
Backoffice operations
At a back-office level, MB WAY supports the following types of operations:
Capture
Used when the Cardholder has provided an authorisation for the payment on a 1st stage and the amount is captured. Used on a 2nd stage to execute the payment, which can happen in different ways (always triggered over an authorisation):
Full: capture the full amount authorised and finish the purchase;
Partial: split the capture and do several payments up to the total amount authorised.
Refund
The purpose of this operation is to refund the amount of a previous payment, crediting the Cardholder account and debiting the Merchant account. A refund can be:
Full: when the total amount of the purchase is refunded to the Cardholder;
Partial: when a subtotal of the total purchase is refunded to the Cardholder.
Cancellation
Requests the cancellation of the amount (full or partial) of a previous authorisation.
It is possible to establish the relationship below among the Front office & Backoffice operations, having in mind that Backoffice operations will act on the Front office operations:
